Card effect (current official text)When an opponent's monster declares an attack: Target the attacking monster; negate that attack, and if you do, gain LP equal to that target's ATK.

Rulings

  • You activate Draining Shield when the monster controlled by your opponent declares an attack.
  • You gain LP for Draining Shield equal to the attacking monster's current ATK.
