Rulings
- "Byser Shock" does not get its effect if Special Summoned face-down. "Byser Shock," if later Flip Summoned, it will have its effect resolve at that time. "Byser Shock" will not receive its effect if Flipped as a result of an attack or an effect.
- If "Skill Drain" is applying or activated in a chain to "Byser Shock’s" effect, the effect of "Byser Shock" is negated.
- Q: If "Byser Shock" is Special Summoned face down with "Spear Cretin," when does it get its effect? A: The effect is written on the card and gives the specific requirements for it being activated (Normal Summon, Flip Summon, Special Summon). A Special Summoned Face Down "Byser Shock" does not have an effect. Also note here that a Flip by an attack meets none of those requirements. 12/04/2003
